Activities:
Day 1:
Arrival in Cape Town airport, pick-up and transfer to our accommodation. After check-in we will visit Table Mountain one of the world’s new seven wonders of Nature. The Table Mountain is Cape Town’s most famous landmark, towering at 1088m. We will take the cable car to the top where we will be awarded by stunning views over Cape Town, Robben Island, the Peninsula and beyond.Day 2: The Cape Peninsula. Our adventure kicks-off with a journey of discovery as we explore the splendor of the Cape Peninsula in Cape Town. We follow the Atlantic Seaboard, past Clifton & Camps Bay, to the fishing village at Hout Bay where we can visit the Seal Colony on Duiker island then continue along the scenic Chapman’s Peak Drive to Simon’s Town to visit a colony of rare Jackass Penguins at Boulders Beach. Once inside the Cape Point Nature Reserve, we will get on our bikes to explore the magical landscape and stunning beaches of the Cape Peninsula . We will have a picnic lunch on route then after lunch we will hike to the lighthouse at Cape Point for breathtaking vistas then make our way to Cape of Good Hope, the south-western most point in Africa. 

Day 3: Hottentots Holland Mountains. Breakfast then drive to the majestic Hottentots Holland Mountains, a playground for nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts alike! The mountains form a barrier between the Cape Town metropolitan area and the southern Over berg coast. We will hike one of the Western Cape’s most beautiful trails through fabulous landscapes and fascinating geological features until we reach our mountain hut, offload our backpacks and rest then gather around bonfire for a delicious south african braai (bbq) under the stars. Accommodation: Basic Mountain Hut

Day 4: Cape Zipline Adventure. Early rise in the morning for a beautiful sunrise over the Hottentots Holland Mountains then hike down the mountain then make our way to Elgin for an adrenaline-fix on a zip-line canopy tour in Elgin valley surrounded by breathtaking Cape fynbos panoramas and mountainscapes. Afterwards we will drive to our accommodation for overnight. Accommodation: Trail’s End backpackers lodge

Day 5: In Search of the Big 5. Breakfast then drive to one of Cape Town’s game reserves chasing African wildlife including Lions, Leopards, Elephants, Rhinos and African Buffalo which are known as the Big 5 in addition to many other animals as well. Afterwards we will drive back to Cape Town.

Day 6: Community Service. Join one of the community service projects in Cape Town area for a full day of interacting with nature and young school students.

Day 7: Departure. Free morning for Shopping in the waterfront area then transfer to the airport for final departure

Supplies Needed:(Cameras and all electronic and personal property is the responsibility of the student. The school will not be held responsible for theft or vandalism of student’s personal property) All below items must be clearly labeled with names. One piece of luggage, one backpack, sleeping bag, flashlight
Clothes: Change of clothing (sport clothing, 5 t-shirts) , water proof and warm jacket, windbreaker/sweater, fleece hoodie (heavy wear for the mountain night), hat, hiking shoes or trainers, socks, crocs/flip-flops,swim wear (Boys: knee length swimming trunks, Girls: knee length shorts elbow length sleeves swim wear – dri-fit shirts) + water shoes

Participants failing to show up with the appropriate swim wear will not be able to participate in water activities

Toiletries: toothbrushtooth paste, soap/shampoo, comb/brush, cocoa butter, sunscreen, towel, toilet seat covers, wet wipes, insect repellent, hand sanitizer, tissues
Medical Concerns: If the student will need to take medicine, clearly label the bottle with student name, dosage, and time given. Medicine must be handed in to the teacher before departure from the school.
Items Not Allowed: Video games, PSP, game related technology.* At   teacher discretion .Hard candy including lollipops and jaw breakers – Red bull – Gum – Power horse*If any of these items are found, they will be confiscated at the beginning of the program and handed back at the end.
